Lessons learned
As I sit here and reflect on my current events in my own personal life, watch the daily viral videos on YouTube, read comments on a loved one's page, etc etc etc, it made me realize a few things.
First, Each one of us are unique. Case in point: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” -Jeremiah 1:5
-We shouldn't be ashamed of who we are. We should rejoice in the fact that God made us who we are FOR A REASON.
-We shouldn't punish ourselves for our mistakes. We should learn from them and accept that we are WISER because of them.
-We should capitalize on our abilities. We should give God the glory for those very abilities. We should encourage our kids, brothers, sisters, friends, family, whoever, to do the same.
-EACH ONE OF US IS AMAZING. AWESOME. We are capable. We can do ANYTHING.
-Anyone who tells us otherwise needs a hug and reminded that they too, can do anything.
Second, our days are numbered. Everyone dies and no one knows when that day will be. Case in point: "Since his days are determined, and the number of his months is with you..." -Job 14:5
-I beg any of you to not live your life emotionally reckless, with a cold heart, or with anything you carry on your heart that isn't accounted for and dealt with.
-Tell those that you love exactly why you love them.
-Don't wait to write how you feel about someone on their Facebook page, via text, or tell someone else except them just how they helped you. Tell them. They will not think you are crazy. They will appreciate your love. They will know your heart. They will love you for it. I made this mistake once and very recently. I wish I could change it, but the unfortunate fact is... I can't, so I learned from it and I will NEVER make that mistake again. Ahhh, wisdom... at it's finest.
-Do not stay mad at someone you love longer than necessary. One hour is pushing the limit on how long you should stay mad at them. I know we have all read it somewhere.. but it is so true! NEVER go to sleep angry at someone. Move on from anger. Anger steals good moments right from underneath you. CHOOSE to have good moments and not deficient ones.
Third, if you have your health, you have it all.
-You really do. I encourage you to think about this.
-If you got out of bed today, you can walk.
-If you're reading this, you can see.
-If you listened to your baby cry today, listened to music, listened to your kids fight, complain, whine... you can hear.
-If you have a place to go to bed at night, you are lucky.
Rejoice in these things. Be grateful for these things. You really have it all.
